Hiring Companies:
Gazillion.com

The economy has been challenging since 2008. There has been countless reports that millions of Americans have lost their jobs. Many of the jobs lost will never be recovered.

As we emerge into 2012, there have been signs that the economy has a few bright growing sectors. Among those sectors are technology.

In California, Edwin Duterte of PinkSlipMixers.com interviews three hiring recruiters of technology to ask what jobs are being created in the Silicon Valley.

Gazillion Entertainment is a developer, publisher and operator of massively multiplayer online games and services for wide audiences. Scott Fernandez of
Gazillion Entertainment says that his company has three online gaming products.

The online gaming community is growing and companies, such as Gazillion, are looking to hire highly skilled positions like software engineers, programmers and animators.

Shiva Adli of Caspian Solutions, an executive search firm in Santa Clara, California, agrees with Fernandez and also sees growth in the online gaming sector. She further adds that she is seeing high growth within the social media space. She is actively recruiting in the states of California and New York.

Jamison Moore of Wix.com, a do-it-yourself website creation company, agreed with the other panelists. Additionally, they are hiring programmers and techies who are talented as well as workers who have the desire and aptitude to learn technology. Wix is hiring in San Francisco, New York and other cities around the world.

Edwin Duterte of PinkSlipMixers.com hosted the jobs panel that focused on the technology industry. This is part 1 or a series of reports devoted to jobs in technology.

Bay Area Jobs In Tech

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rCKaOG_piUQ

Local San Francisco / San Jose Bay Area newspapers have been reporting that the economy is changing and Silicon Valley jobs are leading the way out of the recession.

I sat down with recruiters from Gazillion Entertainment (Gazillion.com), Caspian Solutions (CaspianSolutions.com) and Wix (Wix.com) to find out if the reports that tech is creating more jobs true or exaggerated. After talking to these professionals, there seems to be evidence that jobs are coming back to Silicon Valley.

Scott Fernandez of Gazillion Entertainment is seeing many opportunities in technology. He believes that there are not as many opportunities as eight years ago but definitely more than last year.

Wix US Director of Sales, Jamison Moore, agrees with Fernandez. His company not only hires people with experience in technology, but also people with high levels of customer service. Non-traditional "techies" can possess more attention to clients verses the traditional tech professional. Wix hires people outside the box and that has been successful for their company.

Shiva Adli, owner of Caspian Solutions, encourages tech professionals to be creative and cooperate with other business professionals.

All in all, the panelists agree that there are more opportunities opening up for technology job seekers.
