I have 5+ years of administrative experience. I have applied everyday to various positions, just to get let down. How many people are having this problem? I'm smart.. I give 100% to any job I have. Right now I'm a massage therapist, but I am not making the money I need. I want to go back to a 9-5 job with benefits. I used to have no problem getting a job. Now I feel like I'm useless.
I have applied to entertainment industry jobs, but find that they want people who have already worked in the industry even though I have been administrative assistant for the past 11 years. I'm still looking for employment, but I'm also going to school to become a court reporter and/or broadcast captionist.
The entertainment industry is a tough industry to get into. If you know someone who works in the industry, contact them for help. You have to be persistent if you really want to work in this industry. When applying try to match the desired qualifications that the company is looking for in your reply. Generally this industry looks for people who have industry experience but there are some entry level positions and internships that can give you a peek through the door.
Hello! My name is Stephanie Shaw. I truly agree with all you've said and now since I've formally introduced myself to you, per your suggestion, would you know of any available opportunities for someone like myself with Legal Secretary/Administrative Assistant/Paralegal background with a desire to work in the entertainment field?
I too am in need of more industry experience.
I look forward to hearing from you and wish you much success in all your future endeavors.
What is your passion? I take it you have a certification in massage therapy? Becoming a nurse would be a career that is related to you current position. Send me an email if you have other questions
