With companies downsizing to adjust to their shrinking budgets and the national unemployment rate at 9.7 percent, job security is a thing of the past. That's why many individuals are taking control of their destinies and investing in a business with a proven model - especially the baby boomer population.
Americans between the ages of 55 and 64 had a higher rate of entrepreneurial activity than those aged 20 to 34 every year from 1996 to 2007, according to a 2009 report by the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation.

What holds us back?
 Who will I become? Where will I be ten years from now? These are typical questions that everyone asks themselves throughout their lifetime.The average person will change jobs every four years, resulting in a switch seven to 10 times over their lifetime.
Yet as individuals grow older and technologies advance, it becomes more difficult to switch career paths or find an alternate job. Furthermore, individuals who have been laid off are apprehensive about re-entering the workplace due to unstable work environments and decreased salaries.

Who has had success?
 Scott and Naomie Forney worked in corporate America for more than 35 years.
